Crunching the International Drift Challenge Numbers

The Just Car International Drift Challenge is back again as part of the World Time Attack Challenge and it is all set to go down this weekend!

Starting on Friday and finishing up on Saturday night, WTAC has grown into one of the largest automotive events on the Australian motorsport calendar.

18-19th Oct // World Time Attack 2013, Sydney Motorsport Park, Sydney, Australia.
The event attracts entrants and vehicles from all around the world and thousands of spectators flock to see the craziest cars and an action packed weekend of automotive entertainment.

Of course the focus for Drift Life is the Just Car International Drift Challenge(IDC), which sees the WTAC team hand select the best quality drivers and drift cars from Australia and overseas to take part in the annual competition.

This year sees the return to the old drift layout that incorporates turns 16, 17 and 18 and is set in a natural amphitheater of sorts, making for great viewing for the crowds.

With an all star cast that includes none other than arguably the world’s best drifter Daigo Saito and the craziest drift car in the world, his Monster Energy Lamborghini.

Also attending is 3 time Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg, who will drive an MCA prepped 370Z.  Another massive name is the one and only Mad Mike in his crazy HUMBUL RX7 which not so humbly produces 1000hp.

From across the ditch we have the current D1NZ Champion Nico Reid along with a contingent of NZ’s top drivers, plus the who’s who of Australian drifting that includes many former Australian champions. Check out the full IDC Entry List here.

Drift Life decided to crunch some numbers and see some of the stats that the field of 36 produced, to help get an understanding of where the pinnacle of the sport is at in terms of power, makes and engine configurations.

We hope you enjoy the collection of stats as much as we did producing it!

If you are able to get to Sydney Motorsport Weekend this Friday and Saturday evenings for the IDC, you are in for one hell of a show. Tickets and further info are available via the WTAC Website
